SLYDE
Privacy Policy
Effective 15 August 2026. This policy describes how SLYDE LLC (“SLYDE”, “we”) handles personal data in the SLYDE mobile app and on joinslyde.com.
Deployment note: the in-app account deletion behavior described below must be published together with the app and backend that implement it. Do not ship this Privacy page to production ahead of that stack.
What SLYDE is
SLYDE is a social product for discovering real-world events (“Slydes”) and communities, with profiles, invitations, chat, photos, tickets, and optional paid features.
Data we collect
- Account and authentication. Identifiers needed to sign in with email, Sign in with Apple, Google, or Telegram, including provider subject IDs.
- Profile data. Name, username, bio, photos, interests, optional social handles, and similar fields you choose to add.
- Date of birth and optional demographics. Date of birth is collected to enforce the 18+ requirement. Optional fields such as gender may be stored if you provide them.
- Location. If you grant permission, the app may use precise location to show nearby events and people. You can use a home city or coarser location instead of continuous precise location. Precise coordinates for hosted venues may be stored when you create or edit a place.
- Contacts you choose to upload. If you import selected contacts into Black Book, those records stay in your account until you delete them or delete the account.
- User-generated content. Photos, video, audio (including voice messages), chat, posts, comments, event media, and other content you create or upload.
- Device, push, and analytics identifiers. Push tokens (via Expo) if you enable notifications, device records, crash/debug signals, and first-party analytics events stored in our database (for example route, screen, and feature usage). We do not sell this data.
- Purchases. Apple In-App Purchase transaction identifiers, StoreKit receipts/signed transactions, and boost credit ledger entries for digital boosts and Creator subscriptions. Stripe payment identifiers, ticket order amounts, and related event-ticket records for physical event tickets.
How we use data
- To create and secure accounts, and keep you signed in.
- To show nearby events, people, and communities, and to operate chat and invites.
- To process tickets, boosts, Creator subscriptions, and related customer support.
- To enforce the 18+ rule, Community Guidelines, and safety tools (block, report).
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and chargeback abuse, and to debug reliability issues.
Processors and sharing
We share data with service providers that run the product, only as needed to provide it:
- Supabase — authentication, database, file storage, and Edge Functions.
- Expo — app runtime and push-notification delivery when you enable alerts.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and In-App Purchases / StoreKit.
- Google — Google sign-in when you choose that method.
- Telegram — Telegram sign-in when you choose that method.
- Stripe — physical event-ticket payments and related marketplace charges.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect people from serious harm.
Account deletion
You can delete your account entirely in the SLYDE app: Settings → Delete account. Deletion is performed on our servers after you confirm. You do not need to email support to delete an account.
When deletion completes, we delete or anonymize your profile, private profile fields, devices and push tokens, sessions, Black Book contacts you own, memberships, follows, blocks, invites, DMs and other content you authored, and media files you uploaded. Draft or sole-owner events are deleted or cancelled. Shared or past public events and communities may remain with the host identity removed or transferred to another admin, so other people’s history is not erased.
We retain only records required for fraud prevention, tax, chargebacks, purchase ledgers, and similar legal duties. Those records keep Apple or Stripe transaction identifiers needed for refunds and restores, with your name, email, phone, and other direct identifiers removed. If you used Sign in with Apple, we revoke the Apple credential we hold when one is available — only after Apple confirms a successful revoke response.
Permissions and consent
You can withdraw location, photo, microphone, contacts, and notification permissions in iOS Settings. Turning off a permission stops new collection of that type; it does not by itself delete data already stored. Use in-app deletion to remove the account.
Security and retention
We use HTTPS, access controls, and row-level security on user data in Supabase. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. We keep account data while your account is open, then delete or anonymize it as described above. Specific retention periods for ledger holds are set by legal and compliance review and are not invented here.
